Have you guys heard of the Bacon Turtle Burger? Have you tried it? It actually has many names: The Bacon Turtle Burger, The Bacon Turtle Cheeseburger, The Bacon Burger Turtle, etc. Call it whatever you want but do make sure to try it! After all, it is an amazing dish that combines hot dogs, beef, and bacon all in one.
If you can’t find a burger place that serves this type of burger, why not try making one on your own? Here we have a simple turtle burger recipe.
What you need:
4 oz. of lean beef
1 pack of Hot Dogs or any sausage of your choice
1 package of Bacon
Cheddar cheese or American Cheese
1 egg white
Spices
How to prepare:
Weave the bacon just like a basket. Make it into a square. (5X5 strips of bacon usually work.)
Mix the ground meat, spices and egg white together in a bowl.
Make a thin, flat meat patty with part of the meat.
Place the meat on the center of the bacon weave.
Place some cheese slices on the center of the patty.
Place another thinly formed meat patty on top of the cheese and form it into one meat patty.
Fold the bacon weave over it.
Take out two to three sausages or hot dogs. Make 2 cuts on both ends of two of the hot dogs. Cut the two hot dogs directly in half.
With the other hot dog, cut it in half, and on one end, cut the hot dog into a point to act as the tail. The other end will be the head.
Make holes in the bacon weave, one each for the head, tail, and four legs, poke hot dogs into the body- embedding them into the meat.
Put toothpicks into the body to secure the hot dogs and keep the bacon ends secure.
Cook the Bacon Turtle at 400 to 450 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes or until the bacon is nice browned and crispy.
Enjoy your turtle burger!
