Now, most burger joints offer these fries on the side. But, if you’re planning to make your own at home, then we’ve got just what you need. Here’s a simple recipe of baked sweet potato fries:
Ingredients
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled, cut into 1×3-inch wedges
3 tablespoons soybean oil (often labeled “vegetable oil”)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
How to Prepare
Preparation time is 10 minutes while baking time is around 20 minutes. This recipe makes one serving. First, position the rack in upper third of oven and preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Then, spray your baking sheet with non-stick spray.
Place the sweet potato wedges and soybean oil in large bowl then toss lightly. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika. Arrange potatoes in a single layer on prepared baking sheet, being sure not to overcrowd. Bake until tender and golden brown, turning occasionally. Cool five minutes before serving.
Variations
You can also try baking this on a glass cake pan as they don’t stick quite so much and clean up is a lot easier. Also, if you like your potatoes chewy rather than crispy, you can bake them at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, turning halfway through. You can also add any seasoning you want, say for example, rosemary.
