Baking Tools You Should Have

February 26, 2016 By Elizabeth Leave a Comment

Having read all of our posts about simple recipes you can do on your own, aren’t you just dying to try them out yourself? Baked goods such as cakes, cupcakes, brownies, and cookies are delightful to make. Anyone who has a sweet tooth would want a dose of these goodies once in a while. They’re also perfects as gifts, for birthdays, the holidays, and even treats for Halloween

Before you do start making some of our shared recipes, it is important to have the necessary materials, right? But what are they? Depending on how much baking you intend to do, there are certain items you may want to invest in.  Also, creating high quality baked goodies does not really require a kitchen stocked with fancy tools and expensive gadgets. So, here we list down some of the baking tools you should have, especially when you’re just starting out.

Spatulas can scrape out large quantities of dough cleanly and easily. Do invest in these, and have one of different kinds like a cookie spatula and a spoon shaped spatula. Having one will work with any kind of baking recipe but do get one that’s sturdy.

Measuring cups and spoons. These are essential for using exact amounts of the ingredients, which will be a big factor in how your baked goodies will turn out.  Look for cups and spoons with sturdy handles and easy-to-read measurements.

Baking pans which may include muffin or cupcake pans, cookie trays, cake pans, and spring form pans. Of course, choosing which to buy will depend on what baked goodies you plan to make. I suggest having one of each though.

Whisks are one of the most inexpensive baking tools. If you’d rather not buy a mixer, then buy a whisk instead. Some bakers actually prefer using this one over machine mixers because they claim to have more control when they stir and whisk with their own strength. A large whisk is perfect for blending big quantities of liquid ingredients, as well as being a great makeshift sifter for dry ingredients too.

That’s it basically. Adding more baking tools will all depend again on what you plan to make. Do remember to invest in tools that you will be actually using. For now, making cookies, cakes, muffins, and cupcakes will all be possible with just these tools mentioned above.
