Some people are crazy over porterhouses or T-bones. While others are die-hard fans for the New York Strip. Some, on the other hand, won’t even touch anything but Filet Mignon (I myself am a fan!). However, we do want to try new stuff here in America Top 10, right? So why not focus on the popular Ribeye Steak for now? A lot of people will agree that this type is often the crown jewel of a steakhouse menu. Why so? Well, why don’t we try this recipe to find out exactly why.
Ingredients
This recipe takes around 20 minutes to fully prepare. It yields four servings and very easy to do. The ingredients you will need are:
- four choice rib-eye steaks
- Rib-eye rub, recipe follows
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper
How to Prepare
In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, Cayenne pepper, and chili powder, to taste.
Adjust the ratio of spices to your preference.
To start preparing, simply place rib-eye steaks on a large platter and season with rub on all sides.
Transfer seasoned steaks to the hot grill, and cook for 4 to 6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, longer if desired.
Remove steaks and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Some Notes From
The best way to prepare a ribeye, and the way I like to do it at home, is cooking the steak in a cast-iron pan. By using the pan, you get a nicer crust, and you can incorporate a basting method into the cooking process, which always helps improve the flavor of the meat. Also, there is a big difference between USDA prime, USDA choice, and USDA select grades of beef. In this recipe, we stated that you can use any of your preferred ribeye steaks. This provides some flexibility
