Why A Veggie Patty?
We previously wrote something about healthy burgers and we mentioned that burgers, on the average, contain around 300 calories. These calories will definitely make you gain a lot of weight and fat. What part of the burger caries most of the calories though? We suppose that the patty is a major factor but all the other ingredients contribute to this too. If you’re trying to lose weight then, tweaking the burger patty is a good way to start hence, this recipe.
- 6 ounces of rolled oats
- 2 ounces of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of seasoned bread crumbs
In a medium saute pan and over medium heat, add 1-ounce of olive oil and all raw vegetables except the beans. Saute until translucent then remove and cool. Add the veggies to the beans and mix thoroughly. Add all dry ingredients along with the egg. Thoroughly mix all ingredients and form into 4 patties, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. In saute pan add 1-ounce olive oil, and cook patties 2 to 3 minutes per side. Serve with ready made burger buns and toppings of choice.
