Kon, Alexander MD, FAAP, FCCM
Dr. Kon has over 20 years of experience in the pediatric intensive care unit and healthcare ethics, and has authored or co-authored over 100 publications in leading medical journals with a focus on decision-making for critically ill patients, including international guidelines on pediatric sepsis, family support, shared decision-making, and futility. He is the president of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities and a past-chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Ethics Committee. Dr. Kon is a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and has served in multiple national leadership positions for the U.S. military, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
