As a member of the Mercy Health Hauesntein Neurosciences stroke team, Dr. Farooq works closely with the emergency department physicians, making sure patients arriving with stroke symptoms are quickly diagnosed and treated. If a CT scan shows a patient is having an ischemic stroke – the most common type in which a vessel in the brain is block by a blood clot – a drug promptly is administered to dissolve it and minimize damage.
