Tyson Burghardt, MD

Dr. Burghardt, is an epileptologist with Sparrow. He received his medical degree from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, followed by an internship at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Burghardt completed both his neurology residency and epilepsy and electroencephalography fellowship at Detroit Medical Center-Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. During his fellowship, he received intensive training in electroencephalography, eletrocortiography and evoked potentials. He also trained to interrogate and adjust vagal nerve stimulators and regularly participated in treatment team decisions on epilepsy surgery, including zone of resection. He is board certified in neurology and a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology, Michigan Neurological Society and the American Epilepsy Society.
