Walter G. Carlini, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Carlini, a graduate of Harvard University, earned both his PhD in neurosciences and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at Oregon Health & Science University, he returned to Stanford for his residency in neurology, followed by a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology. Dr. Carlini’s clinical interests include stroke, epilepsy, migraine, dementia, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis. Dr. Carlini has expertise in clinical neurophysiology and in the use of botulinum toxin injections to treat a variety of neurologic disorders. Actively involved in clinical research, he has served as a principal investigator in more than 60 clinical trials spanning a wide range of neurologic disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraine and headache, and neuropathies.
