Things to Look for in Country Clubs

Are you interested in buying membership in to one of the nearby country clubs in your area but can’t decide which one to choose? What should you look for in a country club? What if I’m not a golf enthusiast and I just want to chill at the pool?  What are things to look for in country clubs? We will try to answer all these questions using some of these tips:

A good start is to think about your reason for wanting a membership in the first place. What is the main reason in wanting to be a member of a country club?  What do you intend to do or achieve in being a member? Are you most interested in golf and the golf course itself or are you more looking forward to using the access  the amenities, dining options, and social events?

Also, think about how much time you will be spending at the club. Will you make good use of your membership? Again, you are paying for membership for everyday use, regardless of how frequent you actually go to the country club.  Is the club conveniently located near home or work? This is a also definitely one of the pros if the club is near your place.

Don’t forget to consult with your family too when choosing a private country club.  Keeping the spouse and kids happy should also be your aim. Having said that, a day care center in the country club seems like a good idea, does it not? The Bar and Grill is one of the more important amenities of a private country club, some say, but the most important consideration in choosing the correct private country club has to be the attitudes of membership.

At a private country club, you are paying for the whole thing, and not just access to the golf course or the tennis courts. Therefore it is very important to make sure that the club is worth it. Take note that there are also golf clubs and true country clubs. True country clubs offer a wide variety of amenities for members of the whole family to enjoy, not just golf.  On the other hand, true golf clubs usually focus more on the quality of the golfing experience.

Once you have decided, you should then obtain information from the country clubs you are interested in. Try asking someone who is already a member about their club and how he  or she likes it.  Initially, this may be the best means of getting inside information on the clubs you are considering. Next, take a look at the country club’s website, as well as reviews from guests. Lastly, after all your research, do not forget to visit the club in person to be able to compare clubs more effectively. Most clubs, if not all, welcome new membership inquiries openly and they will even provide you with all of the relevant and updated information regarding the club and the membership opportunities too.
