Prior to his Neurology training in US, Dr.Chivukula trained as an Internist and for many years practiced in different countries – India, Iran and Jamaica.

Dr. Naritoku currently serves as president of the Southern Epilepsy and EEG Society. His clinical interests include comprehensive epilepsy management, clinical neurophysiology and sleep. His research interests include developing new therapies for epilepsy, studying brain mechanisms of seizures and dysautonomia. He has active laboratory, translational and clinical research programs and has received research funding from the NIH and the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

Toby Gropen, MD

Dr. Gropen is the James H. Halsey Jr., MD Endowed Professor of Neurology, Director of the Division of Cerebrovascular Disease, and Director of the UAB Comprehensive Neurovascular and Stroke Center. He serves as Vice-Chair, Regional Advisory Council, Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Services System and Co-Chairman, Stroke Operations Committee of the Birmingham Regional Emergency Medical Services System. Dr. Gropen led the New York State Department of Health’s Stroke Center Designation Project in Brooklyn and Queens and served on New York State Stroke Advisory Group. He was Chair of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) New York City Stroke Committee, and served on the AHA’s New York City Board of Directors. He was Chairman, Northeast Cerebrovascular Consortium which examined regional disparities in stroke care across the northeast and recommended strategies to improve stroke care through system and policy changes based on the stroke systems of care model. He has extensive stroke clinical trial experience, has mentored numerous students, residents, and fellows, and is actively studying ways to improve the stroke system of care.

Dr. Harsh is is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
