The Alaska Botanical Garden

Ten years after the initial planning, the first gardens were planted and the Grand Opening took place on July 25, 1993. With over 1,100 species of hardy perennials, and 150 native plant species, the Alaska Botanical Garden is the place to experience the abundance of the summer sub-arctic growing season and to learn about flora native to south central Alaska.

Kenai Fjords Tours

Seward, AK

Parking is available in the Kenai Fjords Tours parking lot, which is located off the Seward Highway. As you enter town, coming from Anchorage, turn right on Phoenix Road; the parking lot is immediately on your right. Their shuttle van picks up at the parking lot approximately every 10 minutes to take you to the Kenai Fjords Tours office.

Alaska SeaLife Center

Seward, AK

Alaska’s only public aquarium and ocean wildlife rescue center is celebrating ten years on the shores of Resurrection Bay. Visitors to this “window on the sea” have close encounters with puffins, octopus, sea lions and other sea life while peeking over the shoulders of ocean scientists studying Alaska’s rich seas and diverse sea life. They are a private, non-profit corporation with approximately 105 full-time employees and dedicated staff of volunteers and interns.

The Alaska Native Heritage Center Museum

Anchorage, AK

An educational and cultural institution for all Alaskans, the Alaska Native Heritage Center provides programs in both academic and informal settings, including workshops, demonstrations, and guided tours of indoor exhibits and outdoor village sites.

Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum

Anchorage, AK

Located on the world’s largest seaplane base, Lake Hood, at Anchorage International Airport, the Alaska Aviation Museum celebrates Alaska’s rich aviation history. It sits on the south shore of Lake Hood, the busiest seaplane base in the world, with more than 87,000 takeoffs and landings per year. A half-mile away is Ted Stevens International Airport, the air crossroads of the world. You can watch takeoffs and landings right from the museum. The museum presents one of the finest displays of Alaskan aviation history with many interactive displays, memorabilia, photographs, films and artifacts from personal collections of Alaska’s pioneer aviators.

Pratt Museum

Homer, AK

The Pratt Museum is dedicated to the process of education by exploring the natural environment and human experience relative to the Kachemak Bay region of Alaska and its place in the world. The Museum seeks to inspire self-reflection and dialogue in its community and visitors through exhibitions, programs, and collections in the arts, sciences and humanities.
