Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park

Prairie Grove, AR

Recognized nationally as one of America’s most intact Civil War battlefields, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park protects the battle site and interprets the Battle of Prairie Grove, where on December 7, 1862, the Confederate Army of the Trans-Mississippi clashed with the Union Army of the Frontier in a day of fierce fighting resulting in about 2,700 casualties. This marked the last major Civil War engagement in northwest Arkansas. Walk along the ridge and in the valley where the heaviest fighting took place. They share stories about the battle, how the landscape affected and shaped the strategic decisions made by both armies, and the Civil War’s devastating local effect.

Arkansas Air and Military Museum

Fayetteville, AR

Follow the colorful history of aviation in Arkansas and American military conflicts through numerous displays of original artifacts and aviation memorabilia. The historic aircraft in the Arkansas Air & Military Museum are unusual among museum exhibits, because many of them still fly. Static displays at the museum range from the golden age of aviation to the jet age, including Vietnam-era Army helicopters and a Navy carrier fighter. The vast, all-wood white hangar, which houses it’s part of Arkansas and American history, being former headquarters for one of the United States’ many aviator training posts during World War II.

Washington County Historical Society

The mission of the Washington County Historical Society is to discover, preserve, and celebrate the history of Washington County, Arkansas, and to share that heritage with others.

Clinton House Museum

Fayetteville, AR

The Clinton House Museum and its collections interpret the lives of President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton during the time they lived in Fayetteville and occupied the home at 930 W. Clinton Drive. With its range of programs, exhibits, and special events, the Museum promotes the legacy of the Clintons’ commitment to public service and civic engagement for international, national, and local visitors as well as preserves the historic home and its role in Fayetteville history.

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Fayetteville, AR

The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is a unique destination in Northwest Arkansas that draws more than 80,000 visitors a year. The Garden is a collection of twelve themed gardens and includes the region’s only butterfly house. They provide educational, entertainment, and recreational opportunities for students, residents, and Garden visitors to increase their appreciation of the native and natural ecosystem of the Ozarks.

Cosmic Cavern

Berryville, AR

Visitors can tour around the Cosmic Cavern for an hour, allowing them to see two bottomless cave lakes. There is also a newly discovered area, Silent Splendor, which has one of the longest soda straw formations in the Ozarks measuring over nine feet.

Lokomotion Family Fun Park

Fayetteville, AR

Lokomotion Family Fun Park, is Northwest Arkansas’ favorite fun destination for every occasion. Enjoy the only go karts & bumper boats in the area along with two 18-hole miniature golf courses, spin zone bumper cars, lazer tag, and an amazing arcade. They serve some mouth-watering pizza, wings, and more as well.

Lake Sequoyah Park

Fayetteville, AR

Lake Sequoyah is comprised of approximately 1,400 acres of land and 389 acres of water. The City of Fayetteville purchased the property in 1958, and the lake was originally constructed as a water supply reservoir. The city stopped using it as a water supply in the 1960’s when Beaver Water District became the primary source of water for Northwest Arkansas. Today, patrons enjoy boating, fishing, nature watching, picnicking and hiking. The park has a marina, boat ramp and courtesy dock. Fishing permits are required and can be purchased at the marina. Nature trails provide gorgeous views of the lake with plenty of spur trails for fishing access. The area is noted for its plentiful bird population, including Great Blue Heron, American Bald Eagle and Belted Kingfisher.

Springdale, AR

Sassafras Springs Vineyard is a newly designed venue, that will accommodate all of your celebrations. Enjoy exceptional wines inside their beautiful tasting room, under their covered patio next to the fireplace, or on one of their many over-sized decks. In the spring of 2015, they will begin making their own wines out of their newly constructed wine production building.
