It might be a surprise to you, but not everyone knows the proper hair conditioning method. Take me for example. Before researching about this topic, I didn't know that you should be conditioning your hair after every shampooing! There are a lot more pieces of details that you should know too if you really love your hair. Here now are some hair conditioning tips for you.
Types of Conditioners
There are several types of conditioners available out there and they each fulfill different purposes. The most important type is probably the deep conditioner. This conditioner has the ability to penetrate the cuticle of hair to provide hydration and essential nutrients. There are two sub-types: protein based and moisture based. Protein deep conditioners strengthen the hair, stop or prevent breakage, and add resiliency. Moisturizing deep conditioners, on the other hand, hydrate and add a slippery feel. Other types of hair conditioners include:- Instant Conditioners - also known as daily conditioners and they aim to to restore hair to its natural pH, as well as lightly moisturizing and lubricating each strand
- Leave-in - these are easy to apply on your hair with the purpose of smoothening cuticles and protecting against styling
- Serums - are usually applied after deep conditioning and they aim to seal in moisture and protect the hair from heat
