Seaweed truly does seem slimy and gross on the beach, under the sea, and even on your plate. However, they are actually very healthy food. Sea vegetables are full of nutrients and they have a rich supply of minerals, most prominently calcium, copper, iodine and iron. This slippery, stringy sea plant contains powerful ingredients that can benefit your skin too. Here, we focus on the role of seaweed in nurturing our skin. Ever heard of a seaweed body treatment or a seaweed body wrap?
How It Goes
The procedure varies from spa to spa and from massage therapist to massage therapist. We do know the gist of the procedure and it goes like this:- Exfoliation of the skin
- Application of a wrap made of seaweed mud or seaweed clay
- Wrapping of hot towel soaked in herbal seaweed solution around your body
- Ensuring that you sweat out and your skin is toned and reinvigorated
- Keeping the body hydrated during the treatment
- Removal of the excess seaweed mud with the help of a balmy cleansing cloth and then, a thorough application of skin toner and moisturizer.
