Canyon County Historical Nampa Train Depot Museum
Nampa, ID
Construction began in 1902 and the depot opened in September of 1903. It served as Nampa’s train depot until the Union Pacific depot on the north side of the tracks was completed in the latter part of 1925. This building then served as offices for the Union Pacific. The building was eventually donated to the Canyon County Historical Society by the Union Pacific Railroad. It was partially restored and converted into a museum by the Canyon County Historical Society and dedicated July 3, 1976.

Built by the Bureau of Reclamation to provide irrigation water for Canyon County agriculture, Lake Lowell opened in 1909 and is one of the largest off-stream reservoirs in the American west, with the capacity to irrigate over 200,000 acres of land. It has also become a popular recreation destination for the county’s citizens and visitors. Boating, swimming and fishing are among the many activities that folks enjoy at this beautiful oasis in southwest Idaho. Bird watching, hiking and hunting are other recreation options due to the presence of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s Deer Flat National Refuge, also established in 1909.
Roaring Springs Waterpark

The largest attraction of its kind in the Northwest, Roaring Springs Water Park celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2009 with the introduction of Thunder Falls, an exciting new triple down, family raft ride. Roaring Springs offers more than 20 water rides and attractions. Here you’ll find water slides, tube slides, an interactive water play area, lazy river and wave pool. The park’s collection of thrilling water rides includes Viper’s Vortex, a four-story two passenger flume ride that ends with a swirl around the inside of a giant bowl, Racing Ridge, a head first racing mat slide and Mammoth Canyon, a four-person family raft ride that spins and feels like a bobsled on water.
