Dr. Genilo is a Wichita native who has been with Neurology Consultants of Kansas since its start in November of 2005, and has been with the core group since 2003. Dr. Genilo completed his neurology residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. He subsequently earned his Diplomat of Electrodiagnostic Medicine in 2006. As a general neurologist, Dr. Genilo sees a variety of neurologic conditions including, but not exclusively, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, dementia, headaches as well as neuromuscular disorders. A portion of his week is devoted to electrodiagnostic medicine including electromyography, nerve conduction studies and peripheral nerve ultrasound.

Michael Ryan, MD

Shawnee Mission, KS

Dr. Ryan, earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital and a Neurology residency at the University of California. He is Board-certified in Neurology & Psychiatry and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Ty L. Schwertfeger M.D.

Wichita, KS

Dr. Schwertfeger received his Kansas Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine Kansas City and completed his postgraduate residency in neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was previously certified as the Medical Director of Neuroscience at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita and a holds the professional appointment as the Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine University of Kansas School of Medicine. He’s also a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Neurology, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Movement Disorder Society, the Kansas Medical Society, and the Christian Medical and Dental Society.

Hartej S. Sethi M.D.

Topeka , KS

Dr. Sethi is board certified by the American Board Psychiatry & Neurology (Neurology) and American Board Psychiatry & Neurology (Vascular Neurology). He had his residency at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
Neurology.

Dr. Scott Belliston

Wichita, KS

Dr. Belliston takes a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis because his father has the disease. Dr. Belliston has been providing Neurology care to Kansas patients by projecting his knowledge across spacetime via telemedicine, and has a helped a lot of people that otherwise couldn’t access a Neurologist. John David Eatman, MD

Dr. Eatman joins the Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute from Houston where he was awarded his medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (now the McGovern Medical School at Houston). He did his neurology residency training at Houston Methodist Hospital and took a special interest in neuromuscular medicine. After his residency, he did an additional year of fellowship training at Houston Methodist to specialize in evaluation and treatment of neuromuscular disease. He is excited to start serving the people of the Kansas City community and is particularly interested in complex cases and diagnostic challenges in neuromuscular disease and neurology in general.

Bart A. Grelinger M.D., FAAN

Wichita, KS

Dr. Grelinger received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. After completing a medical internship, Dr. Grelinger went to the University of Colorado where he completed a three year residency in neurology and a subsequent one-year fellowship in neuromuscular disease. Dr. Grelinger is board certified in neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine. He has been in active medical practice since 1992. He regularly lectures on neurological issues to lay and professional groups, and is active on several boards in the community.

David R. Mayans M.D.

Wichita, KS

Dr. Mayans is a Wichita native. Dr. Mayans attended Wake Forest University for his neurology residency. He was named Neurology Resident Teacher of the Year in 2010 and Chief Resident in 2012. He completed a fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine and Clinical Neurophysiology at Wake Forest before deciding to return home, and gladly took the opportunity to join Neurology Consultants of Kansas. He is actively involved in several national neurological societies, board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, and maintains certification in Neurosonology. While Dr. Mayans’ clinical focus is in neuromuscular disorders, electromyography, nerve conduction studies and neuromuscular ultrasound, he sees a variety of neurological conditions from Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, to headaches.

Dr. Wade Welch

Topeka , KS

Dr. Welch is the Medical Director of Stroke Program at St. Francis Health, and is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. Specifically, he treats patients for strokes, epilepsy, spine and neuromuscular disorders, multiple sclerosis and spasticity.

James S. Appelbaum, M.D.

Kansas City, KS

Dr. Appelbaum is a board-certified neurologist with more than eighteen years of experience. He is a member of the American Medical Association and American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Appelbaum received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan., and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kan. He completed an internship in internal medicine from St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. He completed his residency and fellowship in neurology at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago, Ill. Dr. Appelbaum is also board certified in Sleep Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
