Amy Amara, MD, PhD
Dr. Amara graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with MD and PhD, with distinction. She then completed neurology residency as well as fellowship training in Movement Disorders and Sleep Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is currently as Associate Professor at UAB. Dr. Amara studies sleep disorders in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the influence of non-pharmacologic interventions such as exercise on sleep disorders, cognition, and other non-motor symptoms in PD. She also has an interest in biomarkers in PD and interventions to improve safety in these patients.
