Delaware Park–Front Park System
One of Olmsted’s first three parks in Buffalo, Delaware Park serves as the focal point of the Olmsted system and today contains many of Buffalo’s cultural institutions. Simply named The Park by Olmsted, this 350-acre setting serves as Buffalo’s “Central Park”. The jewel of the Olmsted system, 350 acres of meadow, forest and lake. Much has been accomplished toward the restoration of this park – a new playground in Rumsey Woods, restoration of the Rose Garden, extensive improvements to the Marcy Casino, and many new trees planted throughout.
