Dr. Shankar Perumal

Dr. Perumal has devoted his career to neurology and specifically to epilepsy. He enjoys understanding the unique causes of each patient’s seizures to help them find ways to control them. Dr. Perumal has plenty of opportunities to expand his knowledge of seizures in his role overseeing the epilepsy monitoring unit. While Dr. Perumal’s first priority is understanding his patient’s medical conditions, he also believes in helping patients understand those conditions as well. He believes patients need to be active participants in their health care. Dr. Perumal believes that informed patients are more likely to keep up with their treatment plans.
