Lyman House Memorial Museum
The nationally accredited and Smithsonian-Affiliated Lyman Museum was established 80 years ago in the Lyman Mission House, built in 1839 for New England missionaries David and Sarah Lyman. Today, the collections are on display in two galleries of natural and cultural history exhibits, next door to the historic Mission House. The Mission House, which can be seen on a guided tour, is the oldest wooden building on the Island and on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
