Dr. Mauer has been head of the Mauer Eye Center since 1990. He is a board-certified Ophthalmologist who graduated from the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts with a distinguished Bachelor of Science degree and attended the University of Iowa College of Medicine for his medical doctorate in 1984. In 1994, he became certified by the American Board of Eye Surgery in Cataract/Implant Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
