Mortgage brokers can still be a good thing. They can do a lot of the hands on shopping for a home loan for you. First though see if you can see how much the mortgage broker is going to charge. Ask your Maryland broker up front how they will be paid and see if you can get it in writing that they are working in your best interest, they may not be willing to do this but it can’t hurt to ask.
