Sometimes you just want to get out and explore. We try to strike a good balance of places that you will really enjoy. Finding ideas for family friendly outings, or interesting places to go in New Mexico with your friends, both are at your fingertips here with America Top 10. We aim to give you plenty of ideas without you having to do all the research. That way you can easily decide if you want to explore New Mexico sites or check out the sites in another state.

You have also heard how it is becoming a lot more popular to have staycations (where you stay home instead of going to far off places) and discover new and interesting places in the near vicinity. Spanish Colonial Arts Society

The Spanish Colonial Arts Society aims to preserve the Hispano art forms that have been produced in New Mexico and southern Colorado during the time when the region was colonized by Spain. The Spanish Colonial Arts Society also features semi-annual “Spanish Market” exhibitions and a range of educational outreach programs as well.

A Park Above, Inc.

Rio Rancho, NM

A Park Above, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) ALL volunteer organization that was created to assist and support the efforts of the City of Rio Rancho’s Parks and Recreation to build and maintain A Park Above. Through their efforts, they have worked together with State, County and City government, corporations and their community to complete this amazing project.

New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum

Las Cruces, NM

New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum is an interactive museum that brings to life the 3,000-year history of farming and ranching in New Mexico. At the museum, visitors can watch a cow being milked, stroll along corrals filled with livestock, and even enjoy several gardens within the premises.

American International Rattlesnake Museum

Albuquerque, NM

The American International Rattlesnake Museum is known as an exciting and educational experience for the entire family. The place currently carries a variety of artifacts, memorabilia, and the largest collection of different species of live rattlesnakes in the world.

Hinkle Family Fun Center

Albuquerque, NM

Hinkle Family Fun Center claims to be Albuquerque’s Premier Family Fun Destination. The place features golf courses, rides, video games, and other attractions. The Hinkle Family Fun Center opened in April 1994.

Sandia Peak Tramway

Albuquerque, NM

A trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles. See some of nature’s more dramatic beauty unfold before you. At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment.

Petroglyph National Monument

These images are a valuable record of cultural expression and hold profound spiritual significance for contemporary Native Americans and for the descendants of the early Spanish settlers.

Museum of Indian Arts and Culture

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, one of four museums in the Museum of New Mexico system, is a premier repository of Native art and material culture and tells the stories of the people of the Southwest from pre-history through contemporary art. The museum serves a diverse, multicultural audience through changing exhibitions, public lectures, field trips, artist residencies, and other educational programs.
