Jennifer Cavitt, MD

West Chester, OH

Dr. Cavitt, has been a Neurologist with UC Health and a Neurologist and Epileptologist in the Epilepsy Center at the UC Neuroscience Institute since 2002. She is Professor of Neurology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She enjoys teaching resident physicians and serves as Director of the Neurology Residency EEG/Epilepsy course. Dr. Cavitt has a busy clinical practice caring for patients with all types of epilepsy in West Chester, as well as performing detailed diagnostic and pre-surgical video-EEG seizure evaluations at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.  She believes in striving for seizure freedom without side effects for patients with epilepsy using a variety of treatments, including antiepileptic drug therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, or epilepsy surgery. In addition, Dr. Cavitt is particularly interested in how epilepsy treatments influence specific women’s health issues such as contraception, fertility, pregnancy and bone health.

Timothy Schoonover, DO, dFACN

Centerville, OH

Dr. Schoonover joined DCND in 1996 and is a senior partner at the practice. He also serves as Vice President of Clinical Quality. Dr. Schoonover’s drive to help people brought him to medicine and neurology. He helped initiate and was instrumental in developing the stroke program currently in place at Kettering Health Network hospitals. Dr. Schoonover is also very committed to helping educate medical students and residents as a faculty member of the Grandview Medical Center Neurology Residency Program.

Dr. Hughes is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His expertise are, General Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s Disease, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, EEG and EMGs.

Dr. Bowman is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her expertise are, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Neuromyelitis Optica and other autoimmune and inflammatory neurological disorders.

Sumit Parikh, MD

Cleveland, OH

Dr. Parikh, is the Director of the Cleveland Clinic Neurogenetics, Metabolic & Mitochondrial Disease program. As a member of the Mitochondrial Care Network, he directs the Cleveland Clinic Mitochondrial Medicine Center and provides multidisciplinary expert and coordinated care to Mitochondrial Disease patients. His clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with mitochondrial cytopathies, select inborn errors of metabolism, cognitive and developmental regression, autism, leukodystrophies, epilepsy and developmental delays. Kevin M. Flanigan, MD

Columbus, OH

Dr. Flanigan, is an attending neurologist at Nationwide Children’s, Robert F. and Edgar T. Wolfe Foundation Endowed Chair in Neuromuscular Research and Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Flanigan is director of the Center for Gene Therapy in The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s and a leading expert in neuromuscular disorders. He is also on the physician team for Nationwide Children’s world-class Neuromuscular Disorders program, which provides coordinated care with pediatric experts from more than a dozen specialties. His primary research interest is in the genetic and molecular characterization of inherited neuromuscular diseases, and the development of therapies directed toward these diseases.

Lauren Ann Cameron, MD

Dr. Cameron is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology and Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology. Her expertise are, Botulinum Toxin Injections, Deep Brain Stimulation and Movement Disorders.

Carmela Gonzales, MD
