Paul S. Koch, MD

Dr. Koch is a Founder and the Medical Director of Koch Eye Associates. His specialty is cataract, lens implantation, and refractive surgery. Dr. Koch has been around for most of the major breakthroughs in refractive surgery. He was one of the first refractive surgeons in America, first performing keratomileusis (the original manual technique for what is now LASIK) in 1979, keratophakia in 1980, and radial keratotomy in 1983 (he is also a radial keratotomy patient himself). He was among the first phakic lens implant surgeons, being one of the original clinical investigators for the Artisan/Veriyse lens and an early international implanter of the Visian lens. He was also one of the first surgeons to use accommodating lens implants to correct presbyopia, as he was one of the original clinical investigators for the Crystalens.

Dr. Charles C. Calenda, M.D.

Dr. Calenda is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, a charter member of the American College of Eye Surgeons, and also has membership in the Rhode Island Medical Society and the Kent County Medical Society.
