Sometimes your favorite station changes and what used to be a couple of minutes of commercials once an hour has become a couple of minutes of music once an hour! Or maybe you are new to Tennessee, just visiting the area, or possibly just need a change. You have come to the right place.

Q 100.3

Knoxville, TN

WQRV (100.3 FM, “100.3 The River”) is a classic hits-formatted radio station serving the Huntsville, Alabama, market, which includes counties in northern Alabama and southern central Tennessee. This station had been WVNA-FM since 1962 before becoming country music formatted WLAY-FM on March 30, 2000. This lasted until a 2006 change to match a format and positioning change to “The River.” The station was assigned the WQRV call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on March 10, 2006.

Star 102.1 FM

Knoxville, TN

WWST (102.1 FM, “Star 102.1”) is a radio station licensed to Sevierville, Tennessee, and serving the Knoxville market. It is owned by the Journal Broadcast Group. The station is a CHR station that broadcasts with 15,000 watts of power and is known on-air as “Star 102.1, Your #1 Hit Music Station”.

WVOL 1470 AM

Nashville, TN

WVOL (1470 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Urban Oldies format. Licensed to the Nashville suburb of Berry Hill, Tennessee, USA, the station serves the Nashville area. The station is currently owned by Heidelberg Broadcasting, LLC. WVOL switched to its current format of urban adult contemporary, urban oldies and talk shows in March 2001.

Rock 102.7

Memphis, TN

WEGR is a classic rock FM radio station in Memphis, Tennessee. It is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and serves the Memphis metropolitan area, including sections of Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi. WEGR broadcasts at 102.7 MHz and on the air it calls itself Rock 102.7. Formerly called Rock 103.

91.9 fm WUOT

Knoxville, TN

WUOT (91.9 FM) is the National Public Radio member station in Knoxville, Tennessee. Owned by the University of Tennessee, it airs a mix of news, classical music and jazz, along with programming from NPR, American Public Media and Public Radio International. The station is also broadcast on HD radio. It primarily features classical music programming, but carries NPR news programs daily, as well as jazz music for ninety minutes every weeknight and all evening on Fridays and folk music Saturday evenings. Its studios are located in the Communications Building on the UT campus.

WBRY FM

Woodbury, TN

WBRY (1540 AM) was a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Woodbury, Tennessee, USA, the station was owned by Volunteer Broadcasting, LLC and featured programming from Citadel Broadcasting. WBRY’s facility record on the FCC website has been deleted. As a result the license has been cancelled. A new construction permit would have to be granted to return the station to the air.

IVK FM 107.7

Knoxville, TN

WIVK-FM is an FM radio station broadcasting at 107.7 MHz near Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. The station is owned by Cumulus Media. WIVK is an Federal Communications Commission-Licensed Class C FM radio station serving the valleys and mountains of East Tennessee. WIVK provides country music, news, and University of Tennessee sports from its Sequoyah Hills studios in west Knoxville.

WQMV AM 1060

Waverly, TN

WQMV 93.5 FM & AM 1060 has developed a format that features the best of the entire rock & roll era. WQMV plays songs from 1955, the year that the first rock & roll song charted, to the 80’s when the rise of the urban sound and modern country became a more profitable format for stations and record labels.

92Q

Nashville, TN

WQQK is an Urban Adult Contemporary FM radio station broadcasting in the Nashville, Tennessee market on a frequency of 92.1 MHz. Beginning in the 1970s as the pioneering station of the “rock oldies” format in the Nashville market, “92-Q” WQQK was later reformatted to Urban contemporary format and currently features a large proportion of rap music in its programming, albeit only Old school hip hop in regular rotation nowadays, which is a rarity for the perdominately R&B/Classic Soul Urban AC format, due to competition from WUBT.

104.5 The Zone

Nashville, TN

WGFX is a radio station broadcasting on the FM band at 104.5 MHz licensed to the city of Gallatin, Tennessee, but serving the Nashville market as a whole. It is currently branded as 104.5 The Zone, broadcasting a sports talk format. It is owned by Cumulus Media and operates out of studios on Second Avenue South in Nashville. Its transmitter is located just north of downtown Nashville.
