WQMV 93.5 FM & AM 1060 has developed a format that features the best of the entire rock & roll era. WQMV plays songs from 1955, the year that the first rock & roll song charted, to the 80’s when the rise of the urban sound and modern country became a more profitable format for stations and record labels.
WGKX (105.9 FM, “Kix 106”) is a country music formatted radio station in Memphis, Tennessee. It is owned by Cumulus Media. Duane Shannon and Abby Summers, known as Duane and Abby, previously on WOGT Chattanooga, replaced Brian Elder and Jay Young in the morning late in 2010. Duane and Abby are one of the few married morning teams.
WZYX (1440 AM) is a radio station that broadcasts SAM FM. It is licensed to Cowan, Tennessee, USA. The station is owned by Christopher Thomas Wizeman, through licensee Wiseman Media. WZYX Radio is broadcast over the AM dial at 1440, and over the FM dial at 94.5. The Bob Peters Show with Dick Wolff is a Tuesday 6 to 7 P.M. feature for the radio station. The Community Shopper show airs every Saturday Morning at 10 AM and Tuesday Morning at 8AM.
WFIV-FM (105.3 FM, “i105.3”) is a radio station broadcasting an adult album alternative format. Licensed to the suburb of Loudon, Tennessee it serves the Knoxville metropolitan area including Farragut. It first began broadcasting in 1990 under the call sign WJDG. The station is currently owned by Horne Radio.
WBRY (1540 AM) was a radio station broadcasting a country music format. Licensed to Woodbury, Tennessee, USA, the station was owned by Volunteer Broadcasting, LLC and featured programming from Citadel Broadcasting. WBRY’s facility record on the FCC website has been deleted. As a result the license has been cancelled. A new construction permit would have to be granted to return the station to the air.
WIMZ-FM is a classic rock radio station based in Knoxville, Tennessee at 103.5 FM. Its broadcast area reaches into southeastern Kentucky, southwestern Virginia, western North Carolina, north Georgia and far northwest South Carolina. Currently, the morning time slot carries the John Boy and Billy show, a syndicated show which is on many stations throughout the southeastern United States.
WQRV (100.3 FM, “100.3 The River”) is a classic hits-formatted radio station serving the Huntsville, Alabama, market, which includes counties in northern Alabama and southern central Tennessee. This station had been WVNA-FM since 1962 before becoming country music formatted WLAY-FM on March 30, 2000. This lasted until a 2006 change to match a format and positioning change to “The River.” The station was assigned the WQRV call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on March 10, 2006.
WWTN is a 100 kW, Class C0 FM radio station serving the Nashville, Tennessee media market. Its dial position is 99.7 MHz. Home to many local and national talk radio shows, the station is marketed as SuperTalk 99.7 WTN (the first W is eliminated for simplicity). It is owned by Cumulus Media.
WOGT (107.9 FM) is a radio station serving the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area with a classic hits format. It is under ownership of Cumulus Media. Until it became a country music station called “107.9 The Duke” on July 29, 2005, the station had an oldies format known as “GT 108” that later changed to “Oldies 107.9” then back to GT 108. Before that it was known as WJRX and played Contemporary Christian music under the name “RX 107”. On November 24, 2010 at 12 noon, WOGT changed their format to classic hits, branded as “Big 107.9”.
WDEF-FM is a radio station serving the Chattanooga area, broadcasting on 92.3 FM. The station operates an adult contemporary (AC) format and is branded as “Sunny 92.3 FM”. From Thanksgiving to Christmas Day, it broadcasts an all-Christmas music format. The station can be heard throughout southern east Tennessee, northwest Georgia (often down to northwest metro Atlanta, despite co-channel W222AF there), and most of northeast Alabama.
