Gregory Cooper, MD

Dr. Cooper completed an internship in internal medicine at Albany Medical Center and a residency in neurology and a fellowship in epilepsy and electroencephalogram (EEG) at UVA. After completing his training, he went into private practice in a suburb of Philadelphia for 23 years and practiced general neurology with a concentration in epilepsy and EEG. In 2012, he returned to UVA to join the Department of Neurology as a clinical associate professor.

Dr. Scherer is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and had his fellowship at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Marcus C. Rice, MD, FAAN, FACP

Virginia Beach, VA

Dr. Rice graduated from Princeton University and from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine and Neurology residencies at the University of Virginia, where he served as Chief Resident in Neurology. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the AANEM. He is the medical director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Tidewater and chairman of the Clinical Advisory Committee of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the National MS Society, a member of the Consortium of MS Centers, and a member of the section on MS of the American Academy of Neurology. In addition to MS, Dr. Rice has had a long interest in Parkinson’s disease and in medical ethics.

Amandeep Sangha, MD

Richmond, VA

Dr. Sangha received his medical degree from the Government Medical College (Guru Nanak Dev University) India and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Jamaica, New York. He was a Fellow in Neurophysiology at the Allegheny General Hospital and is board certified in Neurology. He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Sangha treats all general neurological conditions with a special interests in epilepsy, electrodiagnostics (EEG/EMG0, neuromuscular disease and botulinum toxin injections for all neurological indications.

Mudassar Asghar, MD

Dr. Asghar received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his neurology residency at the University of South Alabama. In addition, Dr. Asghar completed a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Michigan and pain medicine fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia/Georgia Health Sciences University. Dr. Asghar is a diplomate of the American Boards of Psychiatry and Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology and is board eligible in pain medicine.

Nilesh Vyas, MD

Fairfax, VA

Dr. Vyas is board certified in neurosurgery and comes to Inova Medical Group with four years of surgical and clinical experience. Although he treats all neurosurgical diseases, he has a special interest in management of cerebrovascular disorders such as brain aneurysms, AVMs, vascular malformations, carotid artery stenosis, brain tumors and complex skull base lesions

Hernan T. Gatuslao Jr., MD

He continues to educate and treat a wide variety of neurological disorders such as headaches, dementia, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, and muscle disorders. He also does diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as EMG/NCS, chemodenervation with botulinum toxins, occipital nerve blocks, and trigger point injections.

Cletus C. Aralu, MD

Richmond, VA

Dr. Aralu received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Jos Medical School in Nigeria. He completed his internal medicine internship from Georgetown University Program, District of Columbia General Hospital and his neurology residency from Howard University. Dr. Aralu is board eligible in neurology. His medical interests include stroke, seizures, and headaches.

Sonalee Kulkarni, MD

Fairfax, VA

Dr. Kulkarni is board certified in neurology and comes to Inova Medical Group with eight years of clinical experience. She has a special interest in management of general neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuro-muscular medicine and sleep medicine. In addition to practicing at both of the Inova Medical Group neurology outpatient centers, Dr. Kulkarni serves as an assistant professor at the VCU School of Medicine Inova Campus.
