In addition to being a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Edward Akelman is also well-known for being a board-certified and fellowship trained hand and orthopaedic surgeon. He is also the Chief of the Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery Department at Rhode Island Hospital too.
