The Best Burger in Maine

Looking for the best burger in Maine? It is hard to beat a mouthwatering, melt in your mouth burger. One that has been seasoned and grilled to perfection and topped with flavorful cheese and dressed with your all time favorite fixings. Whether those are crisp lettuce and juicy tomato slices or crunchy pickles and onions, we usually each have our idea of the perfect burger.

Here, we have struggled through our differences of opinion to bring you the most regionally acclaimed burgers we could find in Maine. To make our top burger list, these burgers had to consistently receive top marks taste test after taste test! This was research we didn’t mind doing, these burgers also were liked by the widest palette of tastes. So give our burger list for Maine a try. Nicky’s Cruisin Diner

Bangor, ME

Nicky’s Cruisin’ Diner claims to be offering a fun and family atmosphere with 50’s flare. Nicky’s Cruisin Diner started in the early 1970’s as Nicky’s Ice Cream Parlor and is currently specializing in great home-style cooking as well.

The Fire House Grille

Auburn, ME

The Fire House Grill is a restaurant in the New Auburn. It features fine spirits, great food in a festive atmosphere, live music, and 21 cold beer taps.

The Great Lost Bear

Portland, ME

Since 1979 The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution. A family restaurant and an American Craft Beer Destination.

Fuel is a modern bistro, and their food is a nod to Country French, with offerings like NY Strip steak frites. Their infamous braised pork shank, French onion soup and other approachable favorites. They round out their menu with more relaxed choices like their ribeye burger, mac and cheese or a hearty croque monsieur. From craft cocktail offerings to an incredible selection of single malt scotch, they got it covered.

Lewiston, ME

Their vision for Guthries came from a desire to run a business that supports their family, their community, and their environment. First and foremost, they are fortunate to be family owned, operated, and maintained. They support other locally owned businesses such as Coffee By Design, Homegrown Herb and Tea, Sugar Sugar, Borealis Breads, Damselfly Farms, Black Bear Brewing Company, Sebago Brewing Co., Backyard Farms, and Maine Root Handcrafted Beverages.

Side Street Cafe

Bar Harbor, ME

Side Street Cafe claims to be a cozy restaurant, a bumping bar, a local hang-out, and a tourist haven all at the same time. Side Street Cafe is also popular because of serving one of the best Lobster Rolls, Margaritas, Burgers, and Mac and Cheese.

Random Fact

To grow the wheat and sesame seeds for the top of a hamburger bun it takes about 11 gallons of water.
