WNCB, known as “B93.9”, is a country music radio station that serves the Raleigh-Durham market of North Carolina. It is owned and operated by iHeartMedia, Inc., whose sister stations include G105, 106.1 FM, Classic Rock 100.7 WRDU and 95X (WDCG-HD2).

MIX 101.5

Raleigh, NC

WRAL (101.5 FM, “Mix 101.5”) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to serve Raleigh, North Carolina. The station is owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company and broadcasts an Adult Contemporary format. The station switches to a Christmas music format during November and December.

WCPE

Wake Forest, NC

WCPE is a private classical music radio station broadcasting in the United States out of studios near Wake Forest, North Carolina. Broadcasting from Raleigh, North Carolina on 89.7 FM at 100,000 watts, the station went on the air July 17, 1978 and switched to a 24-hour classical music format in 1984. The “sister station”, WZPE in Bath, NC, had obtained a construction permit from the FCC for a power increase to 4,500 watts.

88.1 WKNC

Raleigh, NC

WKNC-FM (88.1 FM), North Carolina State University’s student-run, non-commercial radio station is a College radio station broadcasting from Raleigh, North Carolina in the United States. Broadcasting with an effective radiated power of 25,000 watts, its signal covers much of the Research Triangle and outlying areas. The station is operated as part of the Department of Student Media at N.C. State and students hold all roles from DJ to general manager. The primary weekday format is indie rock, with specialty shows and other music genres featured during the evenings and weekends. The station was recently named “Best of the Triangle” by the readers of the Independent Weekly.

94.7 QDR

Raleigh, NC

WQDR-FM (94.7 FM) is a radio station in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, broadcasting to the state’s central and eastern regions, including the cities of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, Wilson, and Goldsboro. “QDR” presents a country music format and is currently owned by Curtis Media Group. WQDR’s morning radio team, dubbed “The Q Morning Crew,” features Mike Wheless and Mike Raley. From 2004 to 2006 The Q Morning Crew also included the beautiful and talented budding country singer Heather Green.

WRDU

Raleigh, NC

WRDU (100.7 FM, “Classic Rock 100.7 WRDU”) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to serve Wake Forest, North Carolina. The station is owned by iHeartMedia though licensee Capstar TX, LLC and broadcasts a classic rock format.

Raleigh, NC

WQOK is a Urban Contemporary formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Carrboro, North Carolina, serving the Raleigh/Durham area. WQOK is owned and operated by Radio One. 97.5 FM signed on the air in 1968 as a small market 3000 watt FM station serving South Boston, Virginia. In 1987, Radio entrepreneur Tom Joyner purchased the station and moved the transmitter tower closer to Raleigh and upgraded its licensed power from 3000 watts to 100,000 watts, though keeping the city of license in South Boston.

96.1 BBB

Raleigh, NC

WBBB (“96.1 BBB”), is an adult hits radio station based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The station was signed on in 1949 by the Raleigh News and Observer as WNAO-FM to simulcast sister station WNAO, 850 AM.

The Light 103.9 FM

Raleigh-Durham, NC

WNNL is an Urban Gospel formatted station. Owned by Radio One with WQOK and WFXC/WFXK, The Light 103.9 is The Triangle’s #1 Station for Inspiration and home to the Yolanda Adams morning show. WAKS-FM was a Country station in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and sister station to WAKS-AM when it signed on in 1981. In 1987 the station became easy listening WAZZ. In 1989 the station moved to Cary, North Carolina and began playing smooth jazz as WNND “The Wind”.
